In our World of Warcraft for Beginners blog we worked on getting to level 15. Then we learned how to Represent a faction to gain reputation in dungeons and so now it is time to start putting it all together and get to running some dungeons! Our first dungeon on the list is Ragefire Chasm, it is the lowest level dungeon available and is usually the first one you will get if you queue for a random dungeon at level 15. It is a horde dungeon however so if you are alliance you might get lucky and skip it, this being lucky because it only has quests for horde players so you will be missing out on the extra xp! Queuing for the Dungeon
Before you can queue you must choose your role, are you going to tank, or heal or dps? You can choose more then one role (or all of them) and leave it up to wow to decided what they need. The flag box is to indicate that you know the dungeon and you are happy to lead people through if they don't know where they are going. Ragefire ChasmLike I said, Ragefire Chasm is a horde dungeon (the only horde dungeon). It is located underneath Orgrimmar. Like many dungeons, it has a 'breadcrumb' quest. Enemies Below can be picked up by one of the leaders of the horde. In Ogrimmar, that person (it has changed a few times so I won't name names) is located in Gromosh hold, the building in the centre of the city area you walk into from the front gate. Not having the quest is not going to affect anything but if you are a completionist like me you will probably pick it up at some point. If that point isn't before you run this dungeon you can always just zone in as you won't aggro any mobs before you reach the quest givers to turn it in. Ragefire Chasm is located inside the Cleft of Shadows. It is a fairly straight forward dungeon and pretty quick. The run took me around 7 minutes and I was just doing my own thing chatting away and not trying to rush through it. In other words, if you were paying more attention than me I'm sure you could complete it quicker. The dungeon has 3 quests, one which involves killing and looting mobs which you would do anyway, another which involves killing two of the bosses, which you would also do anyway, and the third which has you save some scouts. These can be found along the way and in cages behind the last boss, so nothing you really have to go out of your way for. You will see all this in the video below. Loot EtiquetteI mention this briefly in the video however I just want to go over it again. Because everyone is contributing to the dungeon run and the dungeon's completion, everyone should have an equal chance at getting the loots. Each class wears a different type of loot and so Blizzard makes it so that you cannot need on loot that you cannot equip. However, what if you can equip it? Do you need it or do you greed it? Just because you can equip it doesn't mean you should need it. If it is an upgrade for you no matter the colour, go ahead and need it, but if it's not an upgrade you should always choose greed. While it doesn't really matter at low levels because the greens aren't worth much gold anyways, at higher levels players will tend to get upset if you need on everything. Dungeons have a 'vote to kick' option and you will most likely get kicked out of the dungeon if you do. This will give you a 30 minute debuff preventing you from queuing for a dungeon during that time. Also, I guess it does kind of matter even at low levels because of the honor of the thing. It is just a game, but maybe it is also a reflection of the kind of person you are. Just some food for thought. :) Until We Meet AgainNow that you are running dungeons I'd love to know your thoughts on them! Which is your favourite? Which do you hate? Keep an eye out for more dungeon guides coming soon!
Bye for now! Good luck with all the shinies!
